David Horhota is a lifelong Niagara resident and muso, with deep ties to the local music scene and a lifelong passion for attending live performances. He hosted the "Make a Jazz Noise" radio program for many years on CFBU 103.7FM, co-hosted the afternoon drive with Brad Barker and Dani Elwell one afternoon on JazzFM 91.1, and can occasionally be seen performing on guitar (or if you are really unfortunate you might witness him singing) at local open mics around town. When he's not attending performances, David is a son, grandson, father, grandfather, and I.T. professional….and trying to make the cover of “Mediocre Guitarist” magazine. With the advent of Niagara Arts Review, he unexpectedly found himself expanding his role beyond reviewer to become the publication's website developer, editor, and publisher—a journey he continues to find both rewarding and unexpectedly enjoyable.

Electric Miles

Helliwell Hall’s first jazz night was a triumph, pairing a stunning new venue with Brownman Ali’s captivating tribute to Miles Davis’ electric years. A stellar band, an engaged crowd, and an exciting atmosphere made it a night to remember.
