Subhumans + Bad Waitress

UK anarcho-punk veterans Subhumans bring more than four decades of politically charged punk to Warehouse Concert Hall, joined by Toronto's Bad Waitress.

Formed in 1980, Subhumans emerged from Britain's anarcho-punk scene alongside bands including Crass and Conflict. Their early releases combined the urgency of punk with more intricate musical influences, while Dick Lucas's socially conscious lyrics established the band as a distinctive voice within the UK punk movement. Their 1983 debut album, The Day the Country Died, remains one of their best-known recordings.

After initially disbanding in the mid-1980s, Subhumans later reunited and have continued recording and touring, bringing their catalogue — and its social and political commentary — to new generations of punk audiences.

Opening the evening is Toronto punk band Bad Waitress, whose music draws on garage punk and post-punk with a confrontational live energy. Following their 2018 EP Party Bangers: Volume 1 and 2021 album No Taste, the band returned with the single “Plan B” in 2025 and has new music planned for 2026.
